Silent
Witnesses
Wednesday
January 27
2 p.m.
Join Dr. Ray Feller for a a fascinating discussion of the often-overlooked currency of everyday life for the millions of Jewish prisoners who lived and died at the hands of the Nazis during World War II. Dr. Feller's Silent Witnesses: Civilian Camp Money of World War II, covers the paper money, chits, tokens, and other currencies used by concentration camp prisoners. These surviving scraps of paper and metal are indeed witnesses the 20th Century's most horrible tragedies, as well as to liberation, hope and salvation.
